WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK JULY 15 DAY 2

Waterton Lakes National Park is located in
southwest Alberta, Canada adjoining Glacier National
Park to the south in northwest Montana.
When you drive to the park, the first thing you see is
the Prince Of Wales Hotel built in 1927.
We camped at the Waterton Townsite,
located on Middle Waterton Lake.
There are three lakes--lower, middle,
and upper, that crosses the border into the US.

 Prince of Wales Hotel
(named after the heir to the throne of England, the Prince
of Wales--later the Duke of Windsor. He was so impressed with
this area he purchased a ranch near the Bar U ranch and called it the
EP Ranch)

 The wildflowers are magnificent.

Next we drove to the Red Rock Canyon
(note cracked windshield)
There are two roads into the park and only the
Red Rock Canyon road was open due to previous
flooding.

Almost there for a short hike
