FORT ABRAHAM LINCOLN MANDAN, NORTH DAKOTA JULY 22

Who would think this land supported these industries.


 From badlands to plains and back again.




 World's largest Holstein (cow) New Salem's claim to fame

Lewis and Clark started their voyage here in Mandan
They met Sacagawea here; she was their guide and interpreter
in their exploration of the Western United States.
Sacagawea's name means Bird Woman

 The Slant Indian Village was recreated in the 1930's by
 the CCC and is part of the state park









 These are very similar to Inuit (Eskimo-Aleut) family
homes-circular, center fire, meeting place
