THEODORE ROOSEVELT NATIONAL PARK MEDORA, NORTH DAKOTA JULY 19

Leaving Great Falls heading east past
Malmstrom Air Force Base.
There must be missle silos around here
because......
 HumVee Security vehicle
We didn't know until we passed the SLOW vehicle
it was Security with cameras in the top turret
Following the train tracks through the valleys, around
the hills and over rivers
 Another patrol HumVee
appeared out of nowhere..Are they looking for something
or maybe they're checking us out going through their space!

 Alfalfa?
 Feedlot
 Wideopen spaces
Can you believe all the truck traffic...
All there is to Moccasin-grain elevators and trains and trucks

 Wheat
 Amish Country

 That's alot of hay
 More hay
 Amish sign painter
OH My Gosh...it's 95 degrees out !

 Lewistown, MT
founded 1883, Montana Gold Rush was near here
in the Judith Mountains
Historic old buildings throughout the town
Parked here for a break, Veterans Memorial Park
Next door, was this interesting store with all kinds
of gems, Indians handcrafts, and just stuff.
Learned about Yogo Sapphire--the finest quality
sapphire in the world; mined just west of here.
During the Montana Gold Rush, miners found these
blue pebbles, but not until 1894 when some of these
"pebbles"were sent into Tiffany's for appraisal.
The appraiser pronounced them "the finest precious
gemstones ever found in the United States".
Check them out!
We could only look!
A little change in scenery--pine trees

 Cattle grazing
 Beautiful countryside

 Rollin' Hay
 Hay Rolled

 BEE Hives off in distance
 Amish Farm

 Near Mosby, MT
 Starting into The BadLands

That's all folks to this town "Jordan" which is on Hell Creek
It's for sale..

 Look..Sheep

 More sheep
They even bale the roadside grass
 more Wheat fields

Just us and the road heading to Medora, North Dakota

 Yeah...we're almost there
Hey we're passing a 3 bottom UPS truck...watch the sway!
Big Rectangular bales of hay..another first
 Lots of bugs

We're here..Theodore Roosevelt National Park
439 miles--long day when only traveling 50-55

Once in the Park, it's 5 miles back in; and
we got the last campsite.  Had some luck today!
