Leaving Chicken, looking down on our campsite, we're heading

to Dawson,Yukon Canada on the Top of THE WORLD HWY 

OUR LONGEST most beautiful, dusty, tiresome drive..

even scary at times..and wait to see how we cross The Yukon River!

 Up we go on our 115 mile dusty, rough journey!

 Higher..no edges..straight down..Oh Boy

Just love the wildflowers along the way!

Slow down!  "I'm only going 15 mph."  Oh, slow down.

 Getting higher..river is getting wider.

They say they still make a GOOD living ..hard working

The GOLD is right there under the black sand stuck

to the clay. They just keep digging holes and leaving tailings

behind..piles and piles!

 Hit a few bumps..holes..in the road..can't stop

Bright sunny day ..Window glare

 Had to stop..Oh maintenance man..our windows are too 

dirty to see!  Thank you!

 Getting tired of the narrow, rough dirt road?  So is the driver!

 Yes indeedy...that's the road over there.

NO Buzz! I'm not going up there!!  Dora can't make

it and I'm not leaving her behind..things seem to

disappear around here.  AND, besides we have to come back

down to this same spot.

 Dawson...this is it..where the GOLD Rush began

in 1896

30,000 eager miners flocked to Dawson
now there are 1,300 residents with 60,000 tourists a year

All streets are gravel except Main Street

because the government owns the only connecting

road to Whitehorse the capitol.
