Sunday: Got up at 4:45 am to get on the ferry by 6 am. The sun was already high in the sky.
The cruise to Whittier takes 6 hours, then we are driving to Seward. Buzz's day-only 95 miles to drive!
"Boots" tucked in-had to back in now gesh!
Loading up-Buzz how ya gonna turn into the first lane?
Becoming an excellent rig driver now!
Heading out of Valdez Harbor

Through the Ice Flow
Our Course
Can't believe how calm the inland passage is
population 176-only way in by boat or train and personal
vehicle thru 2.6mile shared tunnel-of course single lane
with scheduled time passings
OK not even staying for lunch-lets get in line
Tunnel through the mountain
Karen wasn't driving the Jeep thru; so we hooked all
back up- didn't want to loose my navigator
This the longest car and train tunnel in North America, one way traffic.
Here we go-the tracks made it quite slippery
Rather narrow and the train tracks throw you from side to side
needless to say we drove slow
out the otherside 2.6 miles at 15 mph and "Dora" had to climb
Hey they have to pay $12 to go through.
Many waiting to go into Whittier
We get out for free!
beautiful Portage Lake on other side
On to Seward
Sunday afternoon traffic going back to Anchorage
Kenai Peninsula
Driving toward Seward on the Seward Highway
Haven't seen so many cars in 3 weeks
Another red flag-more road hazards
MOOSE PASS
Well, that's all I could get of the town-we be drivin'
Our campsite overlooking Resurrection Bay-Seward AK
Seward is the terminus for most cruise ships; unloading passengers here and taking them to Anchorage by either rail or bus to continue their tour or to fly home. Big marina with many fishing boats and pleasure boats. Quaint downtown. The city runs the camping right here on the bay. Beautiful spot. We're dry camping.
Breaking records here--Hi of 86
