PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL LAKESHORE AUGUST 1

Today we drove to Munising and took the cruise
to see the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Beautiful day and the lake was calm.

On the water again and Lovin it.

Miners Castle

Can you see the face in the rocks?

Grand Portal

Part of the roof caved in from last winter

Went right into a cove

Seemed like being in a hole..different
The water is pristine
Mosquito Falls
This pine tree is growing on top of the rock; and,  its'
roots are going to the mainland.
Such stamina to remain

Grand Island
Miners Castle from the top
After our cruise, we drove to Grand Marais, at east
end of the park.  Lots of logging going on..

Ore Freighter...gotta have snaps of boats

Channel marker and light for Grand Marais Harbor
Walking on the breakwater..such a BIG lake and so calm
Grand Marais is quaint little resort town, large RV park
on the beach.  Only reason to come...camp and fish.
Tomorrow onward to the Straits of Mackinac
